The Emperor of China heard about the beautiful singing of the nightingale and brought it to the palace to sing. Later, he became fascinated by a mechanical, artificial bird, and the real nightingale was neglected. When the mechanical bird broke and the Emperor fell seriously ill, the real nightingale returned and sang to help him recover. The Emperor then realized that true art and sincerity are more valuable than artificial things.
