The story is a retelling of the classic Brothers Grimm folktale. A boastful hare mocks the humble hedgehog for his short legs and slow pace. The hedgehog challenges the hare to a race and cleverly devises a trick: he and his wife take turns appearing at the finish line, shouting ā€œI’m already here!ā€ each time the hare reaches the end of his furrow. Repeatedly outsmarted, the hare eventually collapses from exhaustion. The tale teaches a lesson about humility, cleverness, and the dangers of underestimating others.
