N2  - This detailed report highlights real-world examples from Cambodia of how local communities, NGOs, and government officials are successfully managing small-scale and marine fisheries:
Community Fisheries (CFis) and Marine Fisheries Management Areas (MFMAs) give legal authority to local fishers to co-manage resources. These initiatives feature patrolling, no-take zones, fishing regulations, and habitat restoration. 
In regions like Koh Rong and Kep, studies show improvements in reef health, stabilized coral cover, and gradual fish biomass recovery—despite regional threats. 
The efforts are backed by organizations like FFI, Marine Conservation Cambodia, WWF, FAO and others, providing training in community organizing, legal processes, financial planning, and monitoring
