There was a woman who made a living by begging and had three children. Suon, her eldest son, stopped going to school at grade 5. Samnang, a wealthy boy, was Suon’s friend. He asked his parents to let Suon come live with them so he could continue his studies.
Samnang’s parents went to meet Suon’s mother and asked her permission to let Suon stay with Samnang, promising that they would support him and help him continue his education. They also gave some money to Suon’s mother so she could return to her hometown.
