សត្វជីងចក់និងពីងពាងរកសុីចូលគ្នាក្រោមដំបូលផ្ទះតែមួយ ។​ ក្រោយមកសត្វទាំង២ក៏មានកូនចៅរៀងខ្លួន ពីងពាងក៏មានគំនិតចង់អោយរកសុីបែកគ្នា ដោយសារតែជីងចក់មានកូនច្រើន​ ។​ ពីមួយថ្ងៃទៅមួយថ្ងៃកូនជីងចក់ស្គមទៅៗ មេជីងចក់ក៏អង្វរសុំចែកចំណិអាហារតែពីងពាងបែរជាស្តីបន្ទោសទៅវិញ ។​ នាល្ងាចមួយមានភ្លៀងធ្លាក់ខ្លាំងធ្វើអោយដាច់សម្បុកពីងពាង ពីងពាងគ្មានទីជំរកក៏មកសុំជីងចក់ស្នាក់នៅ ។​ មេពីងពាងបានចាត់កូនចៅអោយធ្វើសម្បុកសាជាថ្មី ។ ធ្វើមិនទាន់រួចផងក៏មានអំបោសដងវែង មកវ័ធពីក្រោយខ្នង ។ គ្រួសារពីងពាងធ្លាក់ពេញដី​ខ្លះបាក់ដៃ បាក់ជើង ។ ឃើញដូចនេះក្រុមគ្រួសារជីងចក់បានជួយសង្គ្រោះនិងផ្តល់កន្លែងស្នាក់នៅម្តងទៀត ។​

The grasshopper and the spider lived together under the same roof, sharing their food. Later on, both animals had their own offspring. The spider began to think that they should live separately because the grasshopper had too many children. As days went by, the grasshopper’s children became thinner and thinner. The mother grasshopper begged the spider to share some food, but instead of helping, the spider scolded her harshly. One evening, there was a heavy rainstorm that destroyed the spider’s web. Having no shelter, the spider came to ask the grasshopper for a place to stay. The mother spider then ordered her children to rebuild their web.
Before they could finish, a long-tailed lizard came from behind and swept them away. The spider family fell to the ground—some broke their legs, some their arms. Seeing this, the grasshopper’s family came to help them, offering food and shelter once again.
