At the beginning, Barbapapa suddenly grows from the ground in a garden. At first, people are frightened of him because he looks unusual and different. Feeling lonely, he searches for friends and a place where he belongs. Along the way, he proves his kindness by helping humans and animals in many ways — for example, saving people from danger by transforming into useful shapes.
