As a graphical novel, this book describes events starting in April 1975 when the Khmer Rouge took the capital and power. Like all residents of the city, Lina – about to give birth – and her family leave Phnom Penh. Suddenly disoriented, they advance in the Cambodian countryside, surviving in the confusion, and gradually discover where this revolution goes. If they understand that their lives will never be the same, they are still far from imagining the tragedy of their whole country. The true story of the Khmer Rouge, Tian told the story of his family and reveals the lives of Cambodians during the new era.
