Summary, etc. The Fox and the Raven is a classic Aesop’s fable that teaches the importance of being wise and not easily fooled by flattery. The story begins with a raven who has found a piece of cheese and sits proudly on a tree branch. A clever and hungry fox notices the cheese and decides to trick the raven into dropping it. The fox flatters the raven, praising its beauty and suggesting it must have a lovely voice. Delighted by the compliments, the raven begins to sing, but as soon as it opens its beak, the cheese falls. The sly fox quickly grabs the cheese and runs away, leaving the raven embarrassed and hungry.
