ព្រះបាទសុរិយោទេវង្សមានបុត្រីមួយអង្គព្រះនាម នាងខ្មៅ ។ ថ្ងៃមួយព្រះនាងបានសុំព្រះបិតាទៅក្រសាលទន្លប្រទ្រុន ។ គ្រានោះមានបុសម្នាក់ឈ្មោះបណ្ឌិតស្រីទើបនឹងសឹកពីសាមណេរថ្មីៗបានឃើញព្រះនាងក៏មានចិត្តប្រតិព័ទ្ធនឹងនាង។ បុរសនោះក៏បេះស្លឹកឈើផ្លំយ៉ាងគ្រលួច ។ ព្រះនាងក៏ដើររកសម្លេងនោះតែម្នាក់ឯង។ ហើយពួកគេក៏បានស្រឡាញ់គ្នា ព្រះបិតាខ្ញាល់យ៉ាងខ្លាំងបម្រុងអោយពេជ្ឍឃាដសម្លាប់ តែមាតាសុំអោយយកនាងទៅបំបរបង់ក្នុងព្រៃ ។ ក្រោយមកនាងបានជួបនឹងភិក្ខុមួយអង្គឈ្មោះកែវ ពួកគេក៏ចាប់ចិត្តស្រលាញ់គ្នា ហើយភិក្ខុកែវក៏បានលាចាកសិក្ខាបទហើយរស់នៅជាមួយគ្នាក្នុងប្រាសាទមួយឈ្មោះថាប្រាសាទនាងខ្មៅ ។ King Suriyaodevong had a daughter named Neang Khmao . One day, the princess asked her father for permission to go to bathe in the Tonle Protron River. At that time, there was a young man named Bandit Srey, who had just left the monkhood. When he saw the princess, he immediately fell in love with her.
He secretly plucked a leaf to make a sound, and the princess, hearing it, went to look for where it came from. There, the two met and fell in love. When the king found out, he was furious and ordered the royal executioner to kill her. However, the queen begged for mercy and asked that the princess be sent away into the forest instead.
Later, the princess met a monk named Kaew. They also fell in love, and the monk Kaew eventually left the monastic life to live with her. Together, they resided in a temple known as Prasat Neang Khmao.
