មានកូនស្រីក្រមុំអ្នកស្រុកម្នាក់គឺជាប្រពន្ធរបស់រុក្ខទេវតាកាលពីជាតិមុន ។ ជារៀងរាល់យប់រុក្ខទេវតាបានក្រឡាខ្លួនជាពស់ថ្លាន់មកជួបប្រពន្ធ ។ លុះពេលរាត្រីស្ងាត់ រុក្ខទេវតាក៏និមិត្តរូបជាទេវតាមកជួបនាង ។ ពេលទៀបភ្លឺប្តីប្រាប់ប្រពន្ធអោយនាំឪពុកម្តាយទៅជីកកំណប់ក្នុងដំបូកមួយ ។ យូរៗទៅដំណឹងនេះក៏លេចលឺដល់អ្នកស្រុក ហើយក៏មានក្រុមគ្រួសារមួយបានរកពស់ថ្លាន់អោយមករៀបការនឹងកូនស្រីខ្លួន ។ ពេលយប់មកដល់ពស់ថ្លាន់នោះក៏ចាប់ផ្តើមលេបនាងក្រមុំនោះ ។ ឪពុកបានវះពោះពស់ថ្លាន់ដើម្បីយកកូនក្រមុំ ។ នាងក្រមុំខ្មាសគេជាខ្លាំងក៏យកផ្តិលដាក់លើក្បាល ទៅលោតទឹកនៅក្នុងទន្ល ហើយក៏បានក្លាយជាផ្សោតញីមួយក្បាល ។ A village girl was, in a past life, the wife of a tree deity. Every night, the tree deity would transform into a giant serpent and visit his wife. During the quiet nights, the deity also appeared in his divine form to meet her. One morning, the deity instructed his wife to take her parents to a secret burial place in a secluded mound. Over time, this news spread throughout the village. One family even caught the serpent and tried to arrange a marriage between the serpent and their daughter. That night, the giant serpent attempted to swallow the girl. Her father bravely cut open the serpent’s belly to rescue his daughter. The girl, terrified, placed a magical crown on her head and leapt into the river. There, she transformed into an owl.
